Waffles

A modern, ultra strong, lighter weight alternative to heavy, corrosion prone metal sand ladders, these glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) Trac-Mats are a must for any serious off-roader.

Excellent for recovery use when stuck in thick mud or soft sand, or as a bridging ladder over narrower gaps which the vehicle wheel might not otherwise cross unaided. The waffles can be placed just under the front of the stationary tyre, and provide a non-slip surface for the vehicle to self-recover under it's own power, or in conjunction with another vehicle for assisted recovery.

The weight on the tyre is distributed across the area of the waffles, meaning the tyre will not sink or dig in. The waffles will deflect under the vehicle load. However, because they are made of a glass reinforced polymer rather than metal, they will spring back to their original shape when unladen.

The excellent grip is achieved through the 'gridded' construction of square holes in the mats. This allows aggressive mud-tyre treads to easily grip and hold onto the surface. The waffles also feature a quartz grit surface finish to further enhance adhesion. Combined, this creates tyre to surface adhesion and grip greatly superior to any traditional metal sand ladder. Couple this with inherent strength and durability, lighter weight, and corrosion free materials and it makes these waffles the only modern choice for the off-road scene.

They were used extensively in the desert in Morroco during a press event demonstration and the team were highly satisfied with the performance of the Waffles. They were especially impressed with how much grip they offered in the soft sand and how little 'digging in' was required in front of the wheel to get the vehicle to drive onto them.

Ground Anchor

The ultimate addition to any competiton winching set-up, or a great accessory for leisure use. This clever design digs in as soon as you put tension on it, and the harder you pull the better it digs in making a perfect anchor point. A loop at the elbow means it's also just as easy to pull out. The simple one-piece arm design means the chance of it trapping fingers is greatly reduced, while the removable blade means it can be stowed easily.

Anderson Connectors

Highly durable snap-fit battery connectors, ideal for demountable winches or winches that are removed from the vehicle when not in use. Covers also available to protect the open end of the connector from the elements.

Please Note: 2 different Anderson connectors exist, one type is red and the other type is grey. The two are NOT inter-connectable. We can supply both types - if you are purchasing one to connect to an existing connector please ensure you know which you need. Covers fit either type.

Snatch Block

Famous Four FourSport offer "swing away" snatch blocks, suitable for rope or cable winch lines of 8-11mm diameter. Rated at 7,257kg (16,000lb) pull capacity for a horizontal pull.

This super-useful accessory is a must for any off-roader's kit bag for self-recovery or third party recovery. Effective line pull is doubled, while strain on the winch and rope/cable is halved. Also, the danger of lateral abrasion is removed. Simple to use but totally effective!

Towing Jaw

Essential protection for your hands when working with winch cables and ropes off-road, a pair of rigger's gloves is a vital part of any off-road kit.

Winching Sail

When winching, the winch line can often be difficult to see, especially in muddy environments, or when supervising a winching operation from a safe distance. There is also a danger of people or vehicles crossing the winch line inadvertently. The bright red Winching Sail is large, easy to see, and simple, making winch lines clearly visible. It is also easily indicates when the winch line is slack or under tension. Furthermore, in the unlikely even that the winch line should snap, the sail will dampen the recoil to some extent, thus reducing the safety risk associated with using winch equipment. No winching kitbag should be without one.
